FABULOUS ITALIAN MICRO MOSAIC CZECH FILIGREE BRASS PENDANT NECKLACE
This is a gorgeous, vintage, pendant necklace featuring Italian micro mosaic work, filigree brass metal, and a beautiful, Sacred Heart, portrait / picture center piece which is under glass. I purchased this unique piece at an antique market recently where it had a new, bright, gold plated, chain attached to the pendant. Though nice, it was obviously not original, did not go with the mosaic piece at all. So, had to change it. I designed a neck chain using an antique, vermeil, (gold over sterling silver) filigree, square linked chain which dates to the 1930's era. It features very fine filigree work, and though finer than the filigree brass seen on to mosaic piece, and of course, though not original as well, it's a better fit for the look of the pendant. Etruscan style metal beading is seen in the center of each square link. I then attached a brass link cable chain and an old, embossed box style clasp for the closure, completing the look. Condition is very good vintage. The metal on the pendant has a lovely patina on it now, I am sure it is a vintage Czechoslovakian piece as it shows the distinct metal work and design seen in Czech jewelry. Mosaic tiles are all present and intact.
