Product Description

I've had these beautiful beads for ages. They are faceted quartz, yes, really really real quartz beads from the 1930's era. They had been restrung at some point and as I was scrutinizing them closely I found that there were 3 beads which did not match up meaning the original string had most likely fallen apart years and years ago and several beads went missing. So I started to think about what to do. I have some gorgeous art deco pave rhinestone dress clips and decided to re-design one of them into a pendant and then incorporate it into this necklace. Then I could hand wire the extra beads together making several rows of dangling beads which could drop from the bottom of the pendant. That way all of the beads could be used and would match up properly. Soooo, that's what I did. How pretty! I love it and am sure one of you will also. Especially if you love vintage art deco pieces. I have taken many pictures so I hope you view all of them. The box style clasp is from the 1930's era and has rhinestones set in it. I attached new connectors to each side of it which makes it easier to clasp and also looks very nice altogether. A bit of new with all of the old. In this piece everything is from the art deco era except for those 2 connectors at the back of the necklace. Oh yes, and tiny faceted beads which are used as spacer beads. These are not old and have the slightest tinge of icy blue to them. They look totally clear though and that's because the quartz beads are so vividly clear that they literally glow around the outer area of each bead. These are true faceted "pools of light" quartz beads. The back of the pendant has my silver Ellen original cartouche. I decided not to put a hang tag at the clasp area as it interferes with the look of the necklace. That's just my opinion. I can add one if you like. The beads are graduated in size and are in very good to excellent vintage condition. This means they show no damage at all when viewing them normally. No visible chips, cracks or other problems of any kind. They are exquisite. Under magnification you will see teeny tiny nicks here and there which I consider normal for beads of this age. Again, this is under magnification only. Also, please know this is a difficult piece to photograph. It is much, very much more beautiful in hand that what the pictures can show. The necklace measures 17~1/2" long. The pendant measures 4~1/4"total length which includes the dropping crystals. You will look stunning wearing this necklace. You'll see. I know because I've worn it out a few times. Faboo, lol!
