Gorgeous vintage beaded evening bag
1940's era.
Completely covered in tightly hand beaded small black glass beads this one is a lovely bag to add to your vintage beaded purse collection. There is no label anywhere but nonetheless it is a high quality well made purse.
It has a pouch shape with an embossed silver metal framed top opening with a snap closure and chain. Completely lined inside with black silk or satin (I think it's silk, I not up on my textiles) material which is excellent in condition, no damage anywhere. The beaded area is also completely intact, the beads shimmer and reflect light beautifully. I will point out it could use a gentle cleaning and the silver plated metal frame has darkened a bit. I'm fairly certain it just needs a light polish but I happen to like the patina, and, as in jewelry, the patina is important to leave intact. I will leave all cleaning and polishing up to the new owner to do.
Measures as follows: 6" across at the top, 9" across at the main body of the purse, 10" across at the bottom, 6" top to bottom, approx. 3" wide at the standing bottom and 3" deep at the sides. The chain handle measures 3~1/2" holding it from the top center to the top of the purse
