This is just gorgeous! Vintage multi strand torsade necklace from the 1960's era. And I mean multi strand, lol! Simply elegant with 20 strands of very small glass pearl beads with aurora borealis faceted crystal beads set here and there throughout the piece. Not too many, just enough to add a beautiful effect, like brilliant ice crystals catching the light. There are hundres of pearls here, soooo pretty. All expertly strung, you don't see any loose silk hanging out at the ends and all strands are nice and tight at the connectors too. These connectors are silver plated with an embossed textured design on the top sides. It has an extender and a shephard's hook clasp which is stamped Japan on the back of it. No wonder it's so beautifully constructed, many vintage glass pearl necklaces made in Japan are fabulous and this certainly is one of them. The pearls are high quality, like the tiny to small ones you see in the old Miriam Haskell jewelry. Especially nice is the excellent vintage condition you see here. All of the pearls are awesome with no wear to the pearlized coating anywhere. Likewise, the metal and AB coating on the crystal beads is intact. It actually looks as if it was never used. What a lovely necklace to wear to a wedding, party or special night out. But also a striking necklace to jazz up your favorite jeans (especially black ones) and delicate camisole or tank top. I do love to see elegant, somewhat dressy vintage necklaces with contemporary informal fashions. This necklace goes from winter white to summer delight, versatile, as it can be worn throughout the year. Measures 15" total adjustable length and measures approx. 4" long when not bunched closely together. This can easily be lengthened by hand wiring matching glass pearl beads to the extender which I can add if requested. I have a large assortment of 1960's glass pearl beads so I am able to match the color of these perfectly. A small charge of 8.00 will be added to the invoice for this service.
