EXOTIC DECO ERA BIG STERLING SILVER BIRD OF PARADISE PIN~HUGE CRYSTAL BELLY BODY

This is one fabulous brooch! 1940's era huge bird of paradise pin made of sterling silver with a massive faceted crystal set in it depicting the body of the bird. Spectacular! The design and construction is high quality with layered feathers on the back and tail area which also have brilliant rhinestones set in some of them. The head feathers have clear rhinestones set in the curled tops and there is a rhinestone set in the eye area as well. This bird is perched on a branch which has a leaf at the end of it, and again, more sparkling rhinestones set in that too. Just a wonderful fantasy bird which will add so much style to any outfit. These super birds are few and far between these days. I do believe this could be a Marcel Boucher design, I've seen very similar ones which had his signature on it. Since this has only a cartouche which is stamped sterling I cannot say for certain it is a Boucher bird, but what a piece nonetheless. In excellent vintage condition this rare beauty measures 3~1/4" long x 1~1/4" wide. The huge crystal measures approx. 1~3/4" long x 1" wide.
