VTG MONET GLASS BEADS NECKLACE~BLACK & WHITE 4 STRAND BIB~HAND KNOTTED~EXCELLENT
Black and white is a major part of my wardrobe and this necklace by Monet is especially nice. Four strands of black and white glass beads, strung with black silk and hand knotted, but only intermittently, the knotting is actually part of the design. Very unique. There are more white beads than black and two black beads seen in the center part of the necklace are larger than the rest of the black beads. Very nice design work. I love the clasps that Monet used, they are very distinct and easily recognizable. This one happens to be stamped Monet on the inside of the hook clasp, so there is no question that this one is. The beads are attached to elongated gold plated bar shaped connectors which are solid and beautifully made. In excellent condition the strands still nice and tight to the ends. There is some wear to the gold plating on the shepherd's hook clasp. This is normal wear and does not detract from the necklace overall. This piece has a bit of weight to being all glass and the quality and workmanship is terrific as is expected from Monet jewelry. This necklace is adjustable and the top strand measures 18" total length. Nice
