We just happened to pick them up at great prices which we are passing on to you!!!This necklace has some very unusual composition beads along with wonderful old glass beads. Most likely a Czechoslovakian piece as the glass beads and construction are typical of Czech art glass bead necklaces of that time period. Big red and white swirl design glass beads, white cone shaped beads and red bugle beads, all are hand wired to make this necklace. Along with the glass beads are maroon or raspberry red beads with small irregular white spots. These beads are the unusual ones made from some type of composition. They have a top layer which is a maroon or raspberry color. The white spotting is actually the layer beneath the red one showing through. I believe the spotting is an intentional design feature, however, there is a bit of damage on a few of them where the under layer shows through deeper and in a larger area than just a spot. It is a wonderful piece for the collector of vintage beads.The clasp is a brass spring ring style and it, along with the rest of the metal has that dark patina now. Overall, it is in good vintage condition, It could use a gentle cleaning which I will leave up to the new owner. Measures 16 1/2" long.
