EDWARDIAN ERA NECKLACE~PURPLE CRYSTAL BEADS~SS CLASP~FACETED BEADS~UNIQUE SHAPES & SIZES~ALL ORIGINAL
Delicately fine, this necklace is from the Edwardian era, circa 1915-1920. The purple crystal beads are beautiful in a variety of shapes and sizes. The round beads are finely cut and faceted with a lot of detail in them. The longest cylinder shaped beads are cut and polished along the full length of each one making a six sided bead. Elongated pyramid shaped beads and small cone shapes are added, as well as slender elongated oblong shaped beads with lovely facet work. These are used from the middle to the back of the piece. The clasp is the very old spring ring style which does not have the thumb hook on it which dates it to pre 1920. Stamped sterling on he clasp, this necklace was made for a very slender neck, measuring 14~3/4" long. The stringing is expertly done with great attention to finely finished ends which are backstrung beautifully. This piece is in excellent vintage condition. If you love these charming necklaces this is a wonderful one to add to your collection.
