VINTAGE SPUN GLASS NECKLACE~COBALT BLUE BEADS~FLOWER & FRUIT SALAD BEADS
Beautiful and unique glass beads make this wonderful necklace from the 1930's-50's era. True cobalt blue color, deep and rich, you don't see it often. Looks like gem quality lapis! The shape of the beads make this piece interesting, especially for the bead collector. Wonderful fruit salad leaf shaped beads, along with small flower shaped beads, strung with a double row of very small round beads in between make up most of the necklace.Very nice and intricate work here. But the two, very large, torpedo shaped, spun glass beads really make this piece stand out. They measure 1~1/2" long each, very cool! The clasp is a silver filigree fish hook style which was used in the 1930's. I believe it is original to the necklace as nothing looks to have been re-worked or re-strung here. This is in excellent vintage condition with the cobalt blue string showing no loosening or play at all. Nice and tight to the clasp, this measures 23~1/2" long.
