DELICATE PLASTIC SCREW BACK EARRINGS~FINE ROSE GOLD INTRICATELY WIRED DANGLES~BIG
Beautiful plastic or celluloid earrings from the 1920's era. Though large, they are very delicate, due to the materials, and the intricate way these materials were used to make them. Made with big white plastic thin double hoop discs, one inside of the other. These hoops are decorated with fine gold filled wires, gold stampings, and ultra thin flat metal dangles hanging from the bottom of them. Very gypsy or bohemian in their look A purple rhinestone in the center of each leaf stamping makes a lovely accent. I have had this style in the past and all were hanging from old hook wires made for pierced ears.These most likely had that type of ear hook originally and had been replaced with these screwbacks at some point. They may easily be replaced with pierced earring hooks again if you would like. These earrings are large measuring 2~1/2" long total length. The main round disc piece measures 1~7/16" in diameter. Very light and comfortable to wear and in excellent condition with all the dangles present.
