MIRIAM HASKELL MOP BEADS SEASHELL & BAROQUE PEARLS NECKLACE BRACELET SET~UNIQUE
Loving seashells as I do I have had this Miriam Haskell necklace and bracelet set in my collection for a number of years. Featuring beautifully abstract limpet shells the main shell seen on the necklace also has baroque pearls hand wired in a spiral design around the top of the shell with a mother of pearl bead in the center. More glass pearls and mop beads dangle from the bottom of the shell and the necklace part is all hand strung with baroque pearls, mother of pearl beads, tiny brass spacer beads and 2 big limpet seashells. (which are not cut in half) The clasp is lovely as always in Haskell pieces from the 1940's-50's era. It has the distinct hand wired flower on the top of the round box style clasp which is signed Miriam Haskell. The matching bracelet features a large uncut limpet shell and 2 rows of baroque pearls, mop beads and tiny spacer beads. These are strung on memory wire. The bracelet has the original safety clasp and Haskell's oval hang tag. This set is delightful, would be wonderful to wear in a "beachy" place. But I have worn it with a favorite jacket of mine in cool months as well. Both pieces are in excellent vintage condition. The necklace measures 26" long with the center shell measuring 2~1/8" long x 1~7/8" across. With the dangling beads the drop length measures approx. 3~1/4" long. The shell in the bracelet measures approx. 1~5/8" across x approx. 1~1/8" across.
