VTG 50's RETRO BRACELET by CORO~2 ROWS of PEARLS~DOUBLE HINGED~RHODIUM PLATED
Very pretty bracelet by Coro dating to the 1950's era. This one features double hinged construction in a retro design. The center of the bracelet has clear baguette rhinestones with a double row of faux pearls followed by a single row of pearls in the side hinged areas ending with a fold over clasp which is stamped Coro. A very similar bracelet is pictured in the book "Forties and Fifties Popular Jewelry" by Roseann Ettinger, page 52. It is in an ad published in the 1954 Sears Christmas book which featured Coro jewelry and pictured with a matching necklace brooch and earrings. The bracelet seen in that ad has identical construction but with the pearls arranged differently. The metal in this bracelet has a bright plated finish which is a very light gold color. It was gold plated then plated over that with silver rhodium giving this bracelet its very bright light silvery gold color as well as a very durable finish. The metal in this piece looks like it is actually new even though it is almost 60 years old. The bracelet measures 3/4" wide at the top center and as with most bracelets made at the time it is small at 6~1/4" long. Absolutely wonderful if you have a small wrist, it fits my 6~1/4" wrist perfectly and looks fabulous on. This elegant bracelet will make a terrific addition to any vintage collection but especially to the art deco retro one. Classic...
