Exquisite highly dimensional bird pin from the 1930's-40's era. From an estate this piece is not signed but is attributed to Boucher or Mazer, the original owner, a collector, had written down both names in the information given on it. Featuring extremely high quality construction this bird has pave set paste stones in the wings and head along with channel set baguette rhinestones in the body and tail of the bird. The design is stunning showing exceptional dimension and form, the wings are actually up and over the body of the bird and the head is out and over the tail feathers, it's incredible. The whole piece is brilliant, sparkling beautifully with stones covering every inch of the piece. Add to it the rhodium plated metal and you have a showpiece indeed. Both Mazer and Boucher were known to make costume jewelry which looked just like fine jewelry and this piece certainly does. In excellent vintage condition the stones are clear and brilliant, you would have to look under magnification to find any that may have darkened or turned slightly less than super clear. There are a few, only tiny round ones, but this is very slight and does not affect the beauty or value of the wonderful pin. The rhodium plated metal is completely intact, again if you look with a loupe you may see a very faint scratch on the back of the piece. This is not noticed if looking at it normally. Measuring 2~3/4" long x 1~5/8" across this will be a terrific addition to the high end vintage art deco jewelry collection.
