Exquisite Czechoslovakian festoon necklace from the late Victorian or Edwardian era. Though unsigned it has the distinct Czech materials and design which make their jewelry so highly desirable and collectible. The brass centerpiece is a highly ornate and very Victorian in design with elaborite embossed stampings which are solid and very substantial. In the center of this is a magnificent labradorite gemstone cabochon which shimmers in colors of iridescent blue green, as beautiful as any opal, just stunning! And this stone is huge measuring approx. 1~1/4" across x approx. 1" long by itself making a spectacular centerpiece. Small jade green cabochons are set in the centerpiece as accents to the main stone and are also set in the brass stampings to which the chains are attached to. These are not labradorite stones, may be jade or glass, irregardless, they are lovely and accent the color of the main stone beautifully. The main festoon has 3 rows of chain draping down from the bottom of the stations and connect to each side of the centerpiece. 2 rows of chain make up the back of the necklace which end at a simple spring ring clasp. This clasp design was used in pre 1920 Czech jewelry. This is a fantastic piece that will be the crown jewel in any vintage Czech jewelry collection. It looks fabulous on whether you are dressing up or just being casual, it is a classic beauty. It is in excellent vintage condition with a beautiful patina on the metal. Measures 15~1/2" long which can easily be lengthened. The centerpiece measures 2~3/8" across x 2" long.
