PERIOD ART DECO LAVALIER NECKLACE~BLUE CRYSTAL BEADS~BIG EMERALD CUT BLUE STONE

Beautiful art deco lavalier necklace from the 1920's-30's era. This one features faceted crystal beads, french blue in color, which are spaced with small, clear, rondell shaped beads. The pendant is a large emerald cut blue crystal drop which is bezel set in a silver rhodium plated setting which has tiny paste stones set all along the outer edge of the setting. The silver clasp is the old fish hook design that has a delicate design embossed on the top of it. It is stamped "pat. apld for" on the back. This lovely period piece is in very good vintage condition. Some of the paste stones have darkened which give them the look of old marcasites but still the pendant is lovely, just showing its age gracefully. I think this adds to the beauty of the piece. The stones could be replaced if one wanted brilliant clear ones. Nothing else to note as the beads and center drop are all excellent. The beads are strung on a fine yet strong silver chain. The necklace measures 15~1/2" long, the pendant drops down 2" from the necklace and the square pendant measures 1~1/8" long x 15/16" wide. A wonderful period piece which looks fabulous with today's look and fashions.
