VTG FRANCE FRENCH NECKLACE~BIG WIDE MULTI CHAIN LINK DESIGN~DANGLING GLASS BEADS
What a beautiful and rare necklace! From the 1950's-60's era it is a very large couture piece signed "made in France". Fabulous workmanship featuring big white enameled chain links that are connected together with smaller silver chain links making a very striking background for the 90 + glass beads which drop from them. It's like a massive waterfall that drapes beautifully yet comes together to a point at the very bottom of the piece. The beads which dangle from the chains are round glass beads accented with faceted crystal beads. Most of these are smooth round glass beads in colors of white and turquoise blue. The other faceted crystal beads are a very light transparent blue color and are slightly smaller that the smooth ones. All sway and dangle gently as you wear the necklace. It has a shepherd's hook clasp which is made in one solid piece that has been incorporated into one of connectors. Quality all the way! (It is marked on the back of one of the connectors) This necklace is in excellent vintage condition measuring 28~1/2" long. It is a heavy substantial piece due to all of the chain and glass beads used in it. Weighs 8.2 oz.! It graduates in the width measurements being approx. 4~1/2" long at the bottom center, then approx. 2" wide as you measure farther up, to about 1" at the clasp. This is approx. since the chain drapes and varies a bit in width & length depending on how it conforms to the shape of the person wearing it. Spectacular!
