VTG KENNETH LANE RHINESTONE FULL PANTHER TORSADE~10 STRANDS BEADS~RUNWAY COUTURE
Fabulous vintage necklace by Kenneth lane from the 1960's era. This piece has a wonderful history and provenance which I will briefly write about. The original owner was a model in the 1960's and had some fabulous pieces made for her to wear on the runway and for photo shoots. Some were made by important designers from that period and this is one of them. I will be listing one other necklace I was able to purchase from the family, it's a 60's Christian Dior piece, so please take a look at that one also. This one is a full body, very dimensional panther which is encrusted with clear pave rhinestones all over the body and green rhinestones for the eyes. A head only one was made for Avon much later, this is an authentic vintage one which is stamped Kenneth Lane with the copyright symbol, the mark used in the 1960's-70's era. It is a 10 strand torsade featuring faceted jet black beads which make a beautiful striking look when wearing it. The clasp actually incorporates the big cat into the design of it, a huge slide in box style, very cool. This wonderful piece is in excellent vintage condition, the stones in the cat are all present with just a slight yellow tinge to some. This only shows in the photos as they are super close shots, when you view it normally the stones look very clear and sparkly. Any darkening of the stones is just the camera reflecting off of them for the same reason. The necklace measures 16~1/2" long, the big panther measures 2~3/4" long x approx. 7/8" wide and stand out 1" high. It does have a box and pouch but I don't know if it's original to the piece, however, it will be sent with the necklace
