VICTORIAN EDWARDIAN BUTTERFLY WING BRACELET~5 LINKS~BRASS PLATED SILVER METAL
So charming and very old this is an authentic Victorian or Edwardian era butterfly wing bracelet. Made with 5 links each with a round glass cabochon with the butterfly wing scene inside. The condition is fair to good vintage. The butterfly wings are all intact but the glass on one of the cabs has been chipped on the very outer edge and the glass on another has very faint lines on the top of it which are so faint I didn't see them until I was editing the photos. The chip was also hard to spot, I did not see it when I bought the bracelet, I only noticed it in the outdoor light when I was taking the close up pictures. I have enlarged photos of both areas, please keep in mind these are very highly enlarged and the flaws actually do not show when looking at the piece normally. The metal originally had a very dark patina on the metal which may have been brass plated. The previous owner attempted to polish it which took off the patina in areas so you will see two colors in the metal. The colors in the butterfly wings are still very pretty, they have faded somewhat but this gives it the very lovely old look which Victorian butterfly wing jewelry usually shows. It is made for a very small wrist measuring only 6~5/8" long, however, it can easily be lengthened by adding old links to the ends of it. It has the simple spring ring clasp which was used prior to the 1920's. All in all it's a very nice example of the early 20th century butterfly wing art in jewelry.
