Exquisite necklace and earrings set from the 1930's era. Bought from an estate near Chicago this set looks to be made in India or somewhere in the middle east. Turkey, perhaps, but I am thinking India because it looks like the Taj Mahal in design to me. The design is gorgeous, very elaborate featuring a huge pendant with hundreds of cubic zirconia stones and beautiful aqua blue bezel set glass stones. In the shape of a star it is quite spectacular with a domed center area and faceted crystal beads along with tiny tube shaped glass beads dangling from the bottom of the pendant. The matching pierced earrings are just as spectacular. They have a very unique pierced earring back design, beautifully constructed with narrow and very elegant ear back clutches. They are long and very ornate as well, matching the design of the pendant. The metal is brass which now has a beautiful rich patina on it. When I had the small stones checked by my jeweler I was told they are CZ's. He also said that each stone has been individually hand set and would cost at least $1000 to be made like that today. The necklace beads were missing when I got this so I strung all vintage aqua and clear crystal beads to complete the necklace so it would be ready to wear. All of the beads I used are vintage, circa 1930's. The set is in very good to excellent vintage condition with all of the stones present, only one small blue bezel set marquise has darkened more than usual which I have pointed out in one of the photos. The pendant measures 3" in diameter and with the dangles added it measures 3~3/4" long. The neck length measures 23" long with a 1" adjustment at the clasp area. The earrings drop down just over 2~1/2" in length.
