VTG 1950's X-LARGE SIMON ERNEST BLUM VINYL COATED WICKER HANDBAG~ BLACK & WHITE
Super nice vintage handbag from the 1950'-60's era. This purse is striking, completely done in black and white vinyl coated wicker. It is designed by Ernest Blum, made for Simon New York. This is stated on the label inside along with "made in Hong Kong". It features six rows of black and white braided vinyl strips on the front of the bag and a black & white twist vinyl design on the top of the handles giving it wonderful dimension and body. It's a suitcase style handbag which is larger than the usual ones of this type. It is lined with black material and has 1 long zippered pocket inside. This hand bag in very good to excellent vintage condition with no damage or flaws, just a few light scratches on the metal clasp. This is very minimal and does not effect the look of the purse at all. Overall it's a very fun and unique bag. Measures as follows: 12" across, 7~1/2" high, 5" deep at the sides and 3" wide at the standing bottom. The handles measure 3~1/4" down to the top of the purse, 5~3/4" across and are approx. 1" wide (at the top) graduating down to 1/2" where they are attached to the metal hardware It also has a footed bottom, the metal feet are rivited into the bottom of the bag with vinyl strip supports.
