HAUTE COUTURE VTG GLASS PEARLS CLUSTER & CURLY MOP BEADS SHELL SEASHELL NECKLACE
This again is one of my much loved shell necklaces. I really can't stay away from seashells, lol! I made this necklace originally in 2007 but decided to make it a bit more impressive. So, I added the mother of pearl curly beads for more drama. It's more showy now for sure, lol! So now this necklace features a nice sized shell, a 1950's brooch (which was applied to the seashell) the curly shells, and hand strung vintage glass pearls. I put a soft wash of green and light gold onto the big shell to compliment the colors in the pearl and rhinestone piece. This gives it a softtly iridescent shimmer that the photo doesn't pick up too well but adds so much to the overall piece. The MOP beads had tiny holes in them as they are designed to be strung so I added tiny rhinestones in the holes to cover them.Very pretty and adds a bit of sparkle there too. This style is especially nice to wear to a beach or tropical theme wedding, I've sold some for that type of event before, if you go to my "about me" page you can be directed to my website which has the sold pieces available to view. The necklace measures an adjustable 20" total length. The vintage extender chain is silver plated and measures 3~1/4" in length. The centerpiece measures 3"~1/4" across x approx. 4" long. It is signed Ellen Eaton on the back, dated 2007, and also has my copper Ellen Original hang tag. And...it looks wonderful on!
