RENOIR COPPER BELT~BIG PEACOCK BLUE ENAMEL BUCKLE CENTER with WIRE ACCENTS
Fabulous retro moderne copper belt by Renoir from the 1950's-60's era. This one features a big enameled center piece in blue with copper metal wires mixed in the design making a very cool looking buckle. Most of the enameled copper pieces were signed Matisse but this is signed Renoir only. Excellent vintage condition with the only thing to point out are some very light scratches on the inside of the buckle area and a few extremely faint scratches on the outer belt area. These are practically invisible and only seen if you are looking very closely for them. This is normal and does not effect the beauty or value of the piece. The belt is widest at the back measuring 1~3/4" wide there, then graduating down very slightly to measure 1~1/4" at the buckle. As it curves dramatically I measured along the curve of the belt (without the buckle) and it measures 27~3/4" in circumference. The buckle adds another 3~1/4 to the length and has slots for the closure which allow a little bit of adjusting for waist size. Approx. 31" total length with a few inches allowance either way. Nice!
