Hunky, chunky and big, the stones I used in this necklace are spectacular! Especially the color. These are large agate slabs in deep cobalt blue which look fabulous on everyone. Gorgeous. The stones have the wonderful veining and striations in them and if you look close you'll see wonderful druzy quartz formations, mainly on the 3 center front stones. I accented the big stones with brilliant aurora borealis faceted crystal beads. These are strung in between the large slabs in clusters and are also used as a focal point cluster at the center front of the necklace. Huge faceted oval cut transparent blue crystal beads are also used in the front for a dramatic look. The colors in the AB beads are awesome. The darkest ones have a midnight blue carnival glass coating, the others have a beautiful silvery hematite finish, a perfect compliment to the big stones. I love the striking contrast between an abstract organic design seen in natural stones and elegant faceted crystal beads. Always seem compelled to design that way, lol! I used a vintage silver chain as an extender and a vintage shepherd's hook clasp. As always I added a beaded drop at the end of the extender chain which matches the beads in the necklace. The matching pierced earrings feature the big oval faceted crystal beads. This necklace has some weight to it due to the big stones, but is not uncomfortable, especially for those who like and wear the dramatic couture pieces. If you love the bigger jewelry and especially the gemstone pieces this set is sure to please. The necklaces measures 21" long with a 3~1/4" extender chain making it 24~1/4" total length. The stones have an average measurement of 2~1/2" long x 1~1/2" across. The center area forms a large Y with the main stone dropping down approx. 3~1/2" in length. The pierced earrings are 2" long. The silver toned metal extender chain is an especially nice vintage one that supports the necklace nicely. Looks great with it too. This has my sterling silver Ellen Original hang tag at the back of the necklace as well as my silver cartouche on the back of the main stone.
