BIG VICTORIAN ETRUSCAN REVIVAL CROSS PENDANT NECKLACE~FINE METAL BEADING & WIRE WORK
What a lovely Etruscan revival cross pendant! This one features beautiful and extremely fine wire work and tiny metal beading along with upraised metal designs which resemble clover leaves. These pieces with the very fine etruscan work are so difficult to find anymore and especially in good condition. I am listing this as is in very good condition considering it's a turn of the century (20th of course, lol) pendant with the only issue to note is a bit of wear to the gold guilding along the very outer edges of the cross and on the soldered bale. This is normal in very old pieces like this and certainly does not detract from the beauty of it. The metal is has a lovely soft rose gold tint to it. The chain is not original to the piece in my opinion. It is stamped 1/20-12 K GLD on the clasp and though the metal color matches the pendant beautifully it does have the upraised thumb slide which was not used until the 1920's. With such fine etruscan metal work on it I do believe the pendant is quite a bit older then the chain. Irregardless, it is a beautiful cross which will make a wonderful addition to any Victorian Edwardian jewelry collection. The cross measures 2~1/8" long x 1~5/8" across and it measures 24~1/4" long.
