ART DECO LAVALIER~VTG ORNATE LAMPWORK MURANO GLASS BEADS~PAVE STONES DECO DROP
Gorgeous Murano lampwork beads and an art deco pave rhinestone dress clip are re-designed into a beautiful and unique lavalier necklace. The lampwork beads and clip date to the 1st third of the 20th century. You sure can see the high quality in these older beads! The wedding cake beads show exceptional detail in the enameled gold and glass swirl ribbons. Other Murano beads have gold leaf applied on them giving a soft, shimmering, ethereal appearance. Other vintage beads used here are Victorian faceted deep garnet red glass beads, jet black glass oblong cube beads, Edwardian elongated hollow glass gold beads, square purple beads, foiled lampwork beads, tiny jet black glass seed beads from the 1920's, jet black glass rondell beads & glass pearl beads from the 1940's and faceted green aurora borealis beads from the 1960's. None of these were in use so I just had to do something, they are too beautiful to sit is a drawer any longer, lol! This is my "end of day" necklace and there will be others coming as I have beautiful old beads and dress clips too. I took a lot of photos so please look at them all to see the beauty and variety of beads in this necklace. As this is a new "old" design I did use some new beads too. Very small faceted clear crystal beads accent the older beads beautifully and the beads caps in this are new as well. The rhinestone ball clasp is a new one and it is magnetic allowing this piece to go on easily. The drop centerpiece is all hand wired, the rest is strung with the ends back strung for a clean polished look. This necklace is much more beautiful than the photos can show. The oldest beads are in very good to excellent condition, however you will see a tiny bit of wear to some. This does not detract at all from them, just shows they have aged gracefully. We should be so lucky, lol! This necklace measures 21~1/2" long. The center piece drops down 5~1/4" in length. The dress clip (which is no longer a dress clip) measures 1~1/4" long x 1~1/2" across and has my Ellen Original cartouche on the back of it.This is a one of a kind necklace, the design will never be out of style and I am certain you will love it!
