BIG CHUNKY GEMSTONE AGATE SLAB NECKLACE SET~MONOCHROMATIC COLORS~CRYSTAL FORMATIONS
Hunky, chunky and big, the stones I used in this necklace are quite spectacular! Large agate slabs with monochromatic colors which just go with everything. Variations of black to gray to silvery gray white but with touches of deep purple and just a hint of taupe too. Gorgeous. The stones have the wonderful spider web veining and striations in them and if you look very close you'll see some crystals and light druzy quartz formations. I took a photo in the sunlight to show how beautiful the stones truly are. I used very small hematite coated faceted crystal beads between the big slab stones to add that perfect bit of of sparkle giving the piece a striking contrast between the abstract design in the stones and the elegant crystal beads. I just love that look. I added a vintage silver chain as an extenter and finished with a sterling silver S clasp. Because the stones have the amethyst purple in them I added a beautiful aurora borealis midnight blue carnival glass bead to the end of the extender chain. I also made matching pierced earrings using the same vintage AB beads. The necklace has some weight to it due to the big stones but not uncomfortable, especially for those who like and wear the big exciting pieces. They do graduate in size with smaller ones at the ends. If you love the bigger jewelry and especially the gemstone pieces this set is sure to please. The necklaces measures an adjustable 20~1/8" total length. The biggest stone at the center of the necklace measures 2~1/4" long x approx. 2" across. The other stones vary in size. I put smaller stones next to larger ones giving it a "stacked" look in places as well. The silver toned metal extender chain is an especially nice vintage one that supports the necklace nicely. Looks great with it too. This has my sterling silver Ellen Original hang tag at the back of the necklace. Thanks go to my neighbor Sammi for modeling this one for me!
