GORGEOUS CZECH NECKLACE~ORNATE RENAISSANCE BAROQUE PERIOD PIECE~BIG BLUE EMERALD CUT CRYSTAL STONES
Exquisite authentic Czechoslovakian necklace from the 1930's era. Though unsigned there is no doubt this is a Czech piece with the stones, metal, construction and design that makes Czech jewelry so distinct. This one is a very ornate renaissance revival piece. The main design features 4 large metal stampings with an elaborate baroque design in each. The fancy scroll work here is beautiful, but what really sets each piece off are the cut crystal stones. Big, light sapphire blue, emerald cut, open back, bezel set crystals, they are super clear and truly stunning. Measuring 3/4" long x 9/16" across (17mm x12mm), they are so beautifully faceted that they seem to glow softly. They are in excellent condition, no visible scratches, nicks or flaws. Any faint scratches would only be detected under magnification. The metal is silver plated brass, an especially distinct feature in vintage Czech jewelry. It has worn off a bit around one of the bezel settings but this is minimal and does not affect the beauty (or value) of the piece, The silver plating has darkened giving this a beautiful and desirable patina. The neck chain area features faceted blue crystal beads (with bead caps) which are hand wired together and connect to a spring ring clasp. The necklace measures 17~3/4" in length. The stations measure 1~1/2" long x 1~1/16" across. The center piece area has 3 stations which measure approx. 5" across with the 4th station dropping down from the middle one. This will certainly be a special piece to wear and as well as a fabulous addition to the vintage Czech jewelry collection.
