Rare Miriam Haskell Egyptian Pendant Necklace
1960's Egyptian Revival
Green Peking GLASS
Poured Glass Pendant Scarab design molded into the glass itself
Patent # 342769 dates to 1969 Beautifully detailed gold plated brass metal small glass pearls, embossed chain links, filigree metal work Slide open clasp design seen in Haskell jewelry during the 1960's-70's era.
Oval Miriam Haskell hang tag
Only thing to note is that the large glass drop has a small hole in the side of it. Seems to have been made while making the glass itself as the hole is perfectly round. Looks as if has been drilled there on purpose. (See close up photo). The brass metal now has nice patina.
Wonderful example of Miriam Haskell Egyptian jewelry that shows Czechoslovakian influence; if not signed Haskell you would be convinced it was a Czech piece from the 1930's. All in all a terrific collector's piece as well as a beautiful work of art to wear
Necklace measures 20" long
Glass pendant alone measures 2" long x 1~1/4" across (at the bottom)
Total length including bale is approx. 3" long
The scarab is much more prominent when you see in in hand, the photos do pick it up, but not as well as I would have liked. Please see all photos for best description
