Vintage Coro Cockatoo Bird Brooch
1940's era - stamped with the Pat. No. 125650 which was applied for in January 1941
Excellent example of the master craftsmanship and design of Gene Verrecchio.

Expertly constructed in a rhodium plated base metal with pave set rhinestones on the head and raised inset rhinestones accenting the blue lucite moonglow cabochons which depict the breast feathers of the bird. Then painted with enamels in shades of very deep blue, green and black with a sparkling blue rhinestone eye. The branch the bird is perched on features faceted clear baguette stones
The condition is very good for this type of jewelry. Issues noted are:
The enamel shows loss in the feather areas of the bird giving it a soft, gracefully aged, look

The silver rhodium plating is in excellent vintage condition

Not marked Coro, stamped with the patent number. A well documented piece

Measures  3~7/8" x 1~ 5/8" at it's widest point
