Beautiful art deco lavalier necklace dating to the 1920's -30's era. Though unsigned it is certainly a Czechoslovakian piece with the distinct design and materials seen in Czech jewelry. This one features an intense deep sapphire blue square faceted crystal which is cut on the Diagonal. The color is so rich, the best description to compare it to the "titanic" blue color in the heart shaped necklace seen for sale quite a bit. But what's nice, this is an authentic art deco piece. The stone is prong set in a finely detailed silver filigree setting which drops from an equally fine filigree station. The neck chain is delicately beautiful ending at an art deco clasp which you press down and hook to open or close. The metal is silver rhodium plated giving it maximum durability. This charming piece is in excellent vintage condition with no wear showing to the metal finish and no damage on the stone. Looks very much like rhodium over sterling silver but I have not had it tested for silver which I will do approx. 3 days from now. For now I am stating it is silver plated. The neck length is just under 16", the stone and setting drops 1~1/2" down from the center. This includes the filigree station it is attached to. This is a terrific piece for the collector as well a lovely necklace to wear, looks as beautiful with today's wardrobe as it did with the fashion trends 80 years ago.
