Product Description

Quite a few seemingly crystal  necklaces in the art deco era  period were strung with clear rock quartz gemstone beads & many today go unchecked and are sold as glass or crystal beads. I have been buying and collecting them for years

Here is a beautiful faceted clear rock quartz crystal beads necklace dating to the 1930's era.  The quartz beads are extremely clear and reflective, it's difficult to see any inclusions in the rock quartz. This piece is an authentic, deco era, period, necklace which is in very good - excellent  vintage condition. Noted are tiny, very tiny "flea bites" on the center edges on some of the bi-cone cut stones. Seen by looking very closely or under magnification. Very  minimal and not unexpected in a piece from this period. It is indicative of its age and does not affect the beauty of this necklace.

The main beads are are bi-cone shaped with small "Russian" cut spacer beads in between. Smaller, round, faceted, beads are strung towards the back neck area and nape of the neck. All are hand knotted, strung on silk, graduating in size with the largest beads in the center area measuring 15 x 13 mm on average. Elegant clasp is a sterling silver fish hook style with delicate embossing and marcasite stones. Has a beautiful patina on it now, I would only polish it very gently to highlight the upraised ares in the embossed metal. Beautifully strung, still tight to the ends with no "play" in the silk.  Won't need re-stringing at any point soon

 Measurements - 17~1/2 long

Weight - 47.3 grams or 1.66 oz.

Stamped .925 on the clasp

Superior Gem Quality Clarity

Will be a wonderful addition to the gemstone art deco vintage jewelry collection
